An amazing 35 volunteers and other wonderful people are running in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on 12th October to raise funds for KEEN, and KEEN is holding its own Special Needs Sponsored Relay Race for the athletes so that the children can watch the runners and take part in their own fantastic event at the same time! Please see our sponsors’ page for how to get involved!
Skating, swimming, and of course trampolining at Talacre Sports Centre remain high on our list of favourite KEEN special events. Some pictures will appear here soon! Our Summer Picnic at the Hayward Adventure Playground was really cool—the sun shone, the kids got wet in the fountains and sandpit and everyone had a relaxing and chilled time! Thank you to Noam and Steve and everyone at Hayward, and see you next year!
We can only do it thanks to our amazing volunteers! Thank you, all of you, and a special thank-you and congratulations to Sasha Brenner, Josh Warren and Kartik Muthusamy, all incredible KEEN volunteers who have won awards in the last twelve months for their work with KEEN London. Kartik went to the House of Lords for his award; Josh went to Wembley Arena, and Sasha was presented with hers by the Mayor of Islington!
KEEN has been commended by the Higher Education Volunteering awards for its work with volunteers.
Congratulations also to Dave and Io Epstein on the birth of Eila, a sister for Isaac. Dave is a founder trustee of KEEN London.
This year we joined forces with Autism London to hold another fabulous Christmas party in our very own specially decorated Christmas Grotto—and thanks to Josh Warren for managing to track down Father Christmas and inviting him to come along! Over 60 children and lots of parents and siblings and carers came and joined in the fun. We are very grateful to Help a London Child for their support for this event. |
