For our athletes
During a KEEN session each athlete is paired with a volunteer coach for individual support. This lets each one access activities to the best of his or her abilities. We have two sessions on a Sunday each lasting for 1 hour and 30 minutes, each of them aim to cater for the Athletes’ varying needs.
If someone needs time out from the main session, or prefers a less noisy environment, a second room provides a space for quieter creative activities.

Pick 'n' Mix
Our main sessions are run mid morning and this is when the bulk of our Athletes and Coaches attend. It’s called Pick ‘n’ Mix because it gives athletes a range of activities to choose from. Each session has two group activities, which athletes are encouraged to join in and mix with others. These activities could range from football, basketball and hockey to gymnastics, parachute games and other playground-type games. For athletes who find it more difficult to sustain their involvement, there are a number of stations set up with equipment to play with. This session is great for athletes new to KEEN or who are not quite able to be consistently part of a group.

Intrepid journeys
Our afternoon sessions are much smaller and are based on a theme. Currently the theme is Journeys Around the Globe where Athletes get to take a virtual holiday to a new destination each week. In the session they get to learn about the culture and language of each country through music, dance, movement, sports, games and art. This session is great for athletes who are ready or able to sustain group activity based around a common goal.

Out and about
In addition to our regular sessions, we arrange special trips and outings — including ice skating, swimming, trampolining and pony riding — and we hold an annual picnic and a party.
