It’s not long now until the annual KEEN London Summer residential and the excitement is growing by the day!
This year, 18 athletes will be enjoying three days of fun and adventure at PGL’s centre in Marchants Hill in the Surrey countryside. Many of our athletes will be staying away from home for the first time, but a packed programme of activities – plus the dedicated one-to-one support of our coaches — will make it a trip to remember.
Marchants Hill is set in 45 acres of grounds with a host of amazing facilities including three abseil towers, three zip wires, two low ropes courses, two challenge courses, three trapezes as well as a giant swing, motorsports track, archery range and a huge multi activity tower. As well as enjoying all of these, there will still be plenty of time for the traditional KEEN residential activities of night walks, sing-a-longs and marshmallow roasts!
Then at the end of their long and hopefully sunny days out, they can relax in their own private space, separate from other guests.
We know how popular and fun our residential trips can be, but our athletes’ parents see the real benefits. Here’s what Clare, Ernie’s mum had to say after his first residential trip:
“Hats off to the KEEN team who have once again cut to the core of all the noise around disability and seen what the child is, wants and needs to be engaged with the world around them and learn about real fun.”
