KEEN London newsletter number 36 — July 2019

Summer greetings everyone!

Lots of great photos in this issue so scroll down to check out what we have been up to. As always, you can keep up-to-date and share the KEEN love  on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

A Massive THANK YOU to all of our Hackney half runners and volunteers!

What a sight! A giant parachute floating around the streets of Hackney led by the orange clad KEEN London runners! What a brilliant day we all had supporting team KEEN! See the photos and read all about it here.

Charity of the Year

The vast majority of ‘charity of the year’ partnerships are chosen and nominated by staff and students. Employees or students are asked to nominate a charity. Most choose a large charity brand because they haven’t heard of many of the smaller charities doing great things in the community. Can you help change this and nominate KEEN London? Read more here…

Zipwires and campfires — it must be the Easter residential!

Thank you to all the coaches that helped make this years Easter weekend so much fun. Thanks also to the sun which decided to join us this year! 18 athletes returned with more confidence, more stories to share, memories to cherish and probably bellies full of marshmallows! Enjoy the photos here…

A giant cheque from Chris Moyles — thank you Global

If anyone missed seeing the astonished faces of KEEN London staff and athletes then please do have a look these short clips here as we are presented with a HUGE cheque from Global’s Make Some Noise live on air!

Welcome to elleven

KEEN London would like to give a big welcome to our newest corporate partners elleven dental – a multi award winning dentist in Harley Street.

The team at elleven have already had a ‘lunch and learn’ session with KEEN staff to learn more about how their support will be making a difference to the KEEN athletes. Over the next two years elleven aim to fund the equivalent of 6-8 months of costs for one of our weekend sessions. To put this in perspective this is 40 athletes supported one to one for 2 hours each weekend for 6-8 months or up to 128 hours of fun for 40 athletes (and 128 hours of respite for 40 families). Thank you elleven!

KEEN London is the only charity in London providing one-to-one sports and fun for children and young adults with additional needs (our ‘athletes’) at no cost to their families and caregivers.

KEEN London is a registered charity, number 1124915. It is also a limited company registered in England (number 6579658), and its registered office is Unit B11, 3 Bradbury Street, London N16 8JN
