What is KEEN London?

We run free, engaging and accessible activities for children with additional needs and disabilities. Our inclusive services offer one-to-one support that helps children to thrive, develop and, most importantly, to have fun.

We have been providing free weekly sessions for 20 years and in that time we have grown from one session with a handful of volunteers to multiple sessions, locations and hundreds of passionate volunteers. We have seen children achieve so much since beginning their journey with KEEN London – developing confidence, building self esteem, making friends and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

At KEEN London we offer:

KEEN Club – free, fun and accessible weekly games and activity sessions for children aged 5-11,

Rising Stars – providing support for Early Years,

CAP – our Coach Apprenticeship Programme that supports young people with additional needs (16-25 years), to discover and develop new employment, education, training and volunteering skills.

Whatever we do, we ensure that all our activities meet the following aims:

Inclusive – we welcome children with a wide range of needs and backgrounds and celebrate the diversity within our community
Accessible – the tailored support provided at our sessions ensures that all children can safely access the activities on offer
Engaging – we run a wide variety of activities to suit different interests and personality types, ensuring that our children always have something new and exciting to learn
Supportive of personal development – our activities help children to get active, make new friends, and develop their communication, confidence and social skills
Fun! – at KEEN we believe that all children deserve to have fun, regardless of (dis)ability, and we make sure that fun is at the heart of all our activities

KEEN London is a registered charity, overseen by a board of trustees who have overall responsibility for the running of the organisation. More about our board of trustees…

Our co-ordinators

Nicole, our Senior Co-ordinator, is the hub of the organisation. She oversees the delivery of all of our services and ensures the smooth day to day running of operations. She is also the main point of contact for enquiries about KEEN. Nicole is supported by our wonderful team of Session Coordinators. China-Nicole Davis runs our sessions in East London and is also managing the delivery of our new school holiday programme. Samantha Still is our South London Coordinator. Samuel Ijaopo is our Finance Officer.

Thanks to all of you at Keen for giving me as a parent, an opportunity to say how grateful we are for the respite we get every Saturday.It has transform our Saturday’s. We started coming to the session at the start of 2014 and we have rarely missed any sessions. My daughter who has autism and muscle dystrophy enjoys going and looks forward to the jam packed activities which are always fun and talks about them endlessly. The coaches are all very experience and help the kids and encourages them to get involve or just talk to them and listen. In the summer my daughter went to her first residential trip for 2 days.She had so much fun and still talks about it to this day.They also went to the Aquarium and soft play. Thank you all for your support.
