KEEN Club
Our much loved weekend service (KEEN Club) has been running for 20 years and caters for primary age children from 5–11 years of age. Each week our children (we call them athletes), are paired with a trained volunteer (we call them coaches) to engage with inclusive group activities, make friends, learn new skills and most of all have fun!
Our sessions run for 90 minutes and will involve a mixture of playground games, creative activities and outside nature play. For our KEEN Club members we also run day trips throughout the year, a residential trip and summer and Christmas parties. We currently support children with a wide range of additional needs who require varying levels of support.
Our programme runs for two years and we work with families to define personal goals for their children which we support them to work towards during their time with us..
Please note due to the high demand for our service, the current waiting time for a place is approximately 6–12 months. We know this may be disappointing, but we’re working hard to reduce wait times and ensure every family receives the support they need. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to expand our reach and make a difference for more families
What happens after I register?
When we receive your application we will get in touch to discuss your child’s needs further and determine if we will be able to support them. To do this, it may also be necessary to arrange to meet with you and your child (potentially via a home visit/zoom call/other). If your child is accepted onto our activity programme we will invite you to attend some induction sessions to make sure that they find them enjoyable, and feel comfortable and supported in our environment.
