What is Rising Stars?
Rising Stars is a gentle, inclusive stay-and-play session for young children aged 0–5 who may have additional or emerging needs. Sessions are designed to be calm, flexible and supportive, giving children the chance to explore movement and play at their own pace — while parents build confidence and connection.
SEND-friendly and inclusive – Designed around the needs of children with additional or emerging support needs
No diagnosis needed – Open to all families – no referral or formal diagnosis required to take part
Stay and play together – Parents stay and participate alongside their child throughout each session
Trained, supported staff – Led by experienced staff with dedicated volunteer support
Who is Rising Stars for?
Rising Stars may be right for your family if your child is:
- Showing early signs of additional or emerging needs
- Finding busy or noisy groups overwhelming
- Needing extra time or support to engage
- Awaiting assessment or diagnosis
What happens in a session?
Sessions run at a relaxed pace and include simple movement activities, free play and opportunities for children to explore in ways that feel comfortable for them.
- Small group sizes to keep things calm and manageable
- Flexible activities — no pressure to join in
- Clear routines and gentle structure throughout
- Staff who understand SEND and additional needs
- Opportunities for parents to connect and ask questions
How to get involved
Rising Stars runs on a sign-up basis rather than as a drop-in. This helps us make sure sessions are supportive, well-paced and welcoming for everyone.
