OUR REQUIREMENTS

We kindly request that our coaches commit to attending a minimum of 2 sessions per month for at least 6 months, allowing us to provide consistent support to our athletes. However, there is no maximum limit – you are welcome to join us as frequently as you’d like!  Our sessions are unique in the way children are supported 1:1 but the relationships that develop between coaches and athletes are the real magic, the way children respond to familiar faces, building up their trust and confidence. It works because everyone gets to know each otherAdditionally, we ask all our volunteers to adhere to our volunteer agreement and child protection policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of our athletes at all times.” We also ask that you abide by our volunteer agreement and child protection policy.

Please note that if you are aged 16 or 17 and would like to volunteer please contact us directly via volunteering@keenlondon.org.

Our service runs at the following locations during the school term.

  • Saturdays in Hackney Downs, East London, from 10:00-14:00
  • Saturdays in Lambeth, South London, from 10:00-14:00
  • Saturdays in Wembley, North London, from 10:00-14:00

Our induction process is an important step in familiarising yourself with KEEN London,, understanding your role as a coach, and ensuring the well-being of the children we support. Get ready for an informative and interactive session that will equip you with the knowledge and tools to make a positive difference in the lives of our athletes.

When you attend your first session as a Volunteer Coach, we want to ensure you feel supported and confident in putting your training into practice. That’s why we’ll pair you with an experienced volunteer coach who will guide you through the session and help you understand how to apply your newly acquired skills. Together, you’ll discover the games we play, the equipment we use, and the incredible athletes you’ll be working with.

As you gain experience and attend your first five sessions, you’ll receive your KEEN London t-shirt as a token of our appreciation for your commitment. This shirt not only represents your dedication but also serves as a badge of honour within our community.

For those looking to take their volunteering experience to the next level, we offer the chance to progress to becoming a Volunteer Team Captain. As a Team Captain, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a small group of coaches and athletes, guiding and inspiring them on their KEEN London journey.

Your dedication and continued involvement with KEEN London will not only make a lasting impact on the lives of our athletes but also open doors to new experiences, friendships, and personal growth.

Together, let’s create an inclusive and empowering environment where every child can thrive, and every volunteer can make a difference.
